Meet Your Hosts at Villas At The Colony in Abingdon, Virginia
Hi! I am so glad you are here!
My husband and I are college sweethearts, and after more than 20 years of marriage, I still adore him. He is a combat Army veteran, and together we have built a family and a life that we are incredibly grateful for.
We moved to the Abingdon area in 2012 and quickly fell in love with the beauty of the mountains, the charm of the community, and the slower pace of life. What began as a move to Southwest Virginia soon became home.
Our family of six was completed when we adopted our four beautiful, multiracial children. Today, I’m grateful to be a stay-at-home mom and homeschool our kids, allowing us to soak up the fleeting moments of childhood while creating plenty of opportunities for learning, creativity, music, and adventure.
Our family is a unique blend of structure and creativity. Our days are rarely quiet or predictable, but they are always full! We love exploring, learning together, spending time outdoors, and making memories as a family.
We are also passionate about foster care, financial stewardship, and protecting the gift of family time.
Creating Villas At The Colony has been another extension of what we value most—family, hospitality, beauty, and meaningful experiences. We hope that when you stay with us, you feel more than just welcomed. We hope you feel cared for, comfortable, and at home.
It is our joy to share a little piece of the place we love with you. Welcome to Abingdon, and welcome to our Villas!

Our family is also passionate about beekeeping! We care for several hives on our nearby family property, and our children have enjoyed learning firsthand about the fascinating world of bees. Caring for our hives has become a wonderful opportunity to learn about nature, responsibility, and the importance of these remarkable little pollinators.
Our youngest, a nine-year-old aspiring veterinarian, is especially enthusiastic about helping care for the bees!
Because our Villas are inspired by our family’s love of bees, we’ve included educational reading materials in your Villa for guests who would like to learn more about bees and beekeeping during their stay.
As a special part of your stay, we invite you to sample honey harvested from our own local hives—a little taste of our family’s connection to the land and the community we love.
Please note: While bees are an important part of our family story and Villa theme, there are no beehives located at Villas At The Colony.
